ansicht (Setúbal) 2004, 22'51" in loop, mini DV (video still) The seaport town of Setúbal (Portugal) is located on the northern bank of the river Sado estuary, where the river flows into the Atlantic Ocean. In the beginning of the 20th century, this city was an important center for Portugal's fishing industry. However, the industrial life nowadays is in decline. Tourism is seen as the big opportunity for the future since the nearby coast offers beautiful beaches and unspoilt nature. A colony of dolphins lives in the Sado River. From Setúbal, across the river, you see the peninsula of Tróia, where several high-rise luxury resorts were built and abandoned after the realisation. They were being constructed on sinking, unstable land. Since years now these ghost buildings have risen on the horizon.
